DYNAFIT ANDORRA SKIMO, entra a formar part del Calendari de curses de la ISMF EUROPEAN SERIES

Preus de les proves de l'Andorra Skimo

The SKIMO6 is a long-distance ski mountaineering race in a team format of 2 or 3 people.

The route runs through high mountains in the Grau Roig sector of Grandvalira, where the start and finish are located, and goes into the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This environment, located in the parish of Encamp, stands out for being the wildest and most exclusive in the resort. The race crosses 3 lakes and 3 refuges within an impressive glacial cirque, offering a unique experience in the heart of the Pyrenees.

The objective of the SKIMO6 is to connect the 3 refuges and 3 lakes in the wildest area of the Grau Roig sector with ski mountaineering until reaching the Refugi de l’Illa. The landscape is typical of the alpine region (between 2,200 and 2,900 m), dominated by high mountain pastures.

The entire route is developed through a circular circuit, designed to be as spectacular as it is accessible.

The crossing takes place off-piste, in a completely natural and wild environment, with a technical difficulty of 3/5, suitable for both experienced athletes and regular practitioners looking for a demanding but affordable challenge.

The event brings together both the best ski mountaineering specialists and fans who want to face their personal challenge, enjoying an unprecedented, attractive itinerary without major technical difficulties.

The competition is part of the OPEN ski mountaineering RACE on the FEEC calendar, in which only teams of 2 people can participate.

    GRANDVALIRA SKIMO 6 – 20 km · 1,500 m+

Start and finish point: Grau Roig Ski Resort, Grandvalira Resorts
    Start time: 08:30 AM

The SKIMO 6 invites you to experience a true high-mountain adventure, surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in Andorra.

    Route description

The route begins in Grau Roig, following the Granota piste: a 1.5 km wide section with gentle climbs that will help warm up the legs.

Leaving the piste, a double track leads towards the Pessons Lakes. Just after the lakes, you will see the iconic Montmalús Pass in the distance—the first major climb of the day:
600 m+ to the highest point, where the first descent begins towards the Montmalús Refuge, the location of the first aid station.

We will then cross the lake and climb through the quiet and impressive Ribuls valley, a beautiful ascent of around 500 m+, with no major technical difficulties and breathtaking views. This climb takes us to the second skin removal area, followed by a gentle descent to the Refuge de l’Illa, the largest refuge in Andorra, where the second aid station awaits.

At the halfway point of the race, we continue with a traversing section containing minimal elevation gain until reaching the Port de Vallcivera Pass. From here begins a spectacular 400 m- descent, down an easy, moderate-gradient couloir that all participants will enjoy. This descent leads to the Vallcivera plateau.

Here we begin the final climb of the day (400 m+), passing once again by the third aid station at the Montmalús Refuge.

Finally, we ascend one last time to the Montmalús Pass before launching into the final descent:
600 m- down to the finish line in Grau Roig, where the team will be waiting to celebrate your achievement.
